Careers Update

Year 12

Congratulations to our Year 12 students on their results that were released on Monday. These results are a culmination of a lot of years of hard work. Well done to our entire Year 12 cohort. Remember that the Careers Team is here to support you beyond 2023, you can reach out to us at any time.

Project Ready

The Project Ready Program held its graduation for 2023 last week. Project Ready is a hands-on life and work readiness program designed to get students ready for the future world of work. Project Ready is a full-year VET Program that included a Certificate II in Active Volunteering. Congratulations to Logan Hipwell and Mason Willis for successfully completing the program.

Emergency Services Careers Session

Year 7 students had an 'Emergency Services' Career Information Session a few weeks ago. Guest speakers from Victoria Police, Victoria SES and Ambulance Victoria spoke with our students about career pathways and opportunities. A big thank you to Senior Constable Timothy Parker from Victoria Police , Kaylene Elliot and Ola Salako from Victoria State Emergency Service and Cameron Auber and Mike Smith from Ambulance Victoria . We were very grateful to hear from these amazing emergency service workers who protect and serve our community every day.

 

Accommodation On Campus 

A reminder for any Year 12 students considering living on campus at university next year - you will need to apply as soon as applications are open via each university website. On-campus accommodation options fill very quickly.

TAFE Short Courses

TAFE are running several short courses, which are a great way to expand students learning in a field they are interested in. Please click here for a list of these courses.

The Good Career Guide 

The Good Career Guide is a multi-platform resource for students commencing their career journey. There are over 500 different job descriptions and students can explore occupations based on their interests and traits.  https://www.goodcareersguide.com.au/

 

TFN

A tax file number (TFN) is your personal reference number in the tax and superannuation systems. Your TFN is a unique number (usually 9 digits), an important part of your identity and yours for life – you keep your TFN even if you change jobs or name, move interstate or go overseas. Students commencing part-time work will need to have a TFN.
