Year 9 History
As the 2023 school year draws to a close, our Year 9 History students engaged in an exploration of the events that transpired on the Western Front during World War I. At the forefront of this was the Christmas Truce of 1914. The last lessons of Year 9 students delved into historical accounts and narratives of this pivotal moment in history. The exploration of the Christmas Truce serves as a foundation for what lies ahead in Year 10 History. The upcoming curriculum will delve deeper into the complexities of historical events, encouraging students to analyse, question, and draw connections between past and present.

Year 9 Art
Year 9 Art Elective students enjoyed seeing the postcards they created at the beginning of the year on display at the Waterside Pavilion. To add to the excitement Hannah Jager was interviewed and appeared on both WIN and Southern Cross News bulletins that night. The winners were also announced and Hannah Jager won for her age group, whilst Katie Sluis received a runner up award. We also enjoyed visiting TMAG to see the Epoch installations.
It was a fitting end to a successful year for the Year 9 Art Elective students who all worked with diligence and creativity on their postcards, installations, prints and independent projects throughout the year.
