ELC News

Jasmin Reynolds, Mandira Dulal Silwal and Michelle Hughes-Gage

We can’t believe it is December already and we are nearing the end of another year.  Our ELC educators would like to thank the community for the support provided to them this term. It has been an exciting and busy term for everyone involved!

Many of the children will be transitioning into Kindergarten next year and we would like to wish them all the best for the new year. For children who are staying with us in 2024, we are really looking forward to what the program will have in store for you. So many new experiences are waiting to happen.

What has been happening at ELC?

Christmas tree

The ELC children have worked together to decorate our Christmas Tree. We were so excited to put colourful tingles, stars and sparkly balls in the tree. We even sung Jingle Bells, danced together and shared stories about Christmas trees that are in our homes. We had so much fun.

Number Caterpillar

The ELC children have worked together to make a number caterpillar.

After some interest was sparked from doing a butterfly puzzle about the life cycle of a butterfly. We sat together as a group and read the hungry caterpillar and talked about how the caterpillar turns into a butterfly.

We then all sat down to participate in an intentional activity of drawing, tracing and cutting.

Forrest drew all the numbers on the caterpillar for us. Thank you Forrest.

When children engage in experiences as a group they work together to help one another learn as they communicate what they are doing with each other. This was a wonderful experience as the ELC practised their fine motor skills of tracing and cutting skills.

If you or your child has had a change in circumstances or you have changes planned for 2024, please let us know. Any changes should be communicated with us to ensure we are providing the best care for your child and we have accurate information about each child.

Parent and Educator conversations
