Last Newsletter For the Year

It's amazing how quickly the term has gone and I would like to thank all of our staff, parents, students and the broader community for your continued support of Bunyip Primary School. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and holiday break and look forward to seeing our families back in 2024. For those families moving on, we wish you all the best for your future adventures.

2024 School Captains:

This year we had 17 students apply to run for the position of School Captain. All of the candidates took the time to fill out a written application before being approved to make a speech today. The highlight of the written applications was reading each student's answer to 'What's one thing you love about Bunyip Primary School?' The quality of speeches today was outstanding and I'm excited to hear our new leaders will be, which will be announced at our final assembly on Friday.

Parents & Friends:

A huge thank you to P&F for our very successful family night last night. It was wonderful to see so many of our families enjoying a BBQ and for our children to have a visit from Santa. There was a lot of work involved in organising last night and I really appreciate the effort from the members of P&F.

2024 Grades:

Today all students attended their new grade / cohort for 2024. The 3 to 6 students spent time with each teacher in their cohort and with a mix of students. Any final changes will be made by teachers before Thursday.

Staffing Changes:

Firstly, I would like to thank Mrs Julie Gatti for returning from retirement to help us out with staffing shortages this term and to set the Library up for the school next year. We hope to see you in the future, even if it's just for a quick hello.

Chaplain Yvonne - unfortunately we were unsuccessful in receiving the Chaplaincy Grant for 2024 which means that Chaplain Yvonne will not be with us next year. Yvonne will be working with other schools. Yvonne has done a wonderful job supporting our students and staff and will be missed by the school community.

Anthony Craig - after 10 years at Bunyip Primary School, Mr Craig has decided to move on with his career and try something new. Mr Craig has been successful in gaining a position as a Secondary Physical Education and Outdoor Education teacher. We know as much as we will miss him at Bunyip, that he will love this new opportunity. I would like to thank Anthony for his contribution to the Education of students at Bunyip Primary School and his support of students to be successful in sport.
