Year 9 Incursion

Aboriginal Survival Technology

On Tuesday 14th November, the ARCH community enjoyed a visit from naturalist, Philip “Wildman” Green.

The sessions conducted with the Year 9 groups were very entertaining. Philip was an incredibly engaging presenter. Students listened intently to various anecdotes of Philip’s experiences in different communities throughout Australia and they viewed many images and cultural artefacts from across many traditional countries.

Philip’s knowledge and experience of Aboriginal culture, people and survival methods, and the stories he was able to tell, had students enraptured. Students who attended the incursion were able to handle an enormous collection of artefacts. Levels of engagement were high and students saw an amazing exhibition in their very own ARCH.

Students not attending the event were able to participate in an alternative program regarding Ecology with Ms Hamilton, Ms Allison, Mr Arnold and Ms Smith.

A very big thankyou to all involved with various roles on the day.
