The P&C usually meet on the first Monday of each month from 5.00pm at the school. Everyone is welcome to come along!

 

P&C Newsletter

It is that time of year again when we need to start thinking about winter jackets for students.

If you would like to order a jacket for your child please complete the attached order form and return to school by Friday 4th April.

THANK YOU

A huge thank you to all our volunteers, bakers, donators, and everyone who helped make our Street Store week such a great success. It was particularly great to see some new families getting involved and helping our fundraising efforts to support our students.

Street Store week is a huge week for our P&C, but it was fantastic to have so many new members stepping up to help make everything work! Our P&C is all about people working together, sharing their skills and learning some new tricks, and the camaraderie that developed during the week with our School families working together was amazing.

We will have a full wrap up and financial report on the Street Store at our next General Meeting (Monday 7th April)

Winter Jackets

With winter (and School holidays) fast approaching, we will be putting through an order for our weather-proof jackets. It would be appreciated if orders could be placed before the end of term for delivery early in Term 2 before the cold weather kicks in. Any late orders will incur an additional delivery fee, so please make sure you get your order in on time.

Jackets are $45 and can be ordered through the Office by completing a Uniform Order Form alternatively see the attached order form below. School shirts, hats and jumpers can also be ordered. Payments can be made by direct deposit, cash or cheque. Please remember that proof of payment is required before your items can be collected. 

Bulb Fundraiser

Notes and brochures have been sent home with all the students for our Bulb fundraiser. There is a great selection of bulbs available ready to be planted for a beautiful Spring display! Our students will benefit from every purchase, so please have a look through the online catalogue - www.bulbfundraiser.com.au/rockyriverps

Orders must be placed online by 11th April and will be delivered directly to your door. While there is a delivery fee for each order, you may like to put a large order together with friends or family to help reduce the cost. 

Easter Hunt

Our P&C will once again bring the excitement to our students with our Easter Hunt following the Easter/Crazy Hat Parade and assembly. This is for all our students and their siblings, notes will go home to our families to get an idea of numbers for catering purposes and any dietary needs. Please keep an eye out and ensure you return the form as soon as possible.

AGM and General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 7th April, 5.00pm at the School. We really look forward to some new faces and fresh ideas for the next 12 months of our P&C.

The AGM will be followed by our April General Meeting.

Thank you and farewell from the Secretary

I will finish on a more personal note. 

My child has finished her time at Rocky River, so I will be pulling back from my role as Secretary which I have filled for the past 4 years. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of this amazing group of dedicated parents who want to provide the best possible experiences for the students at Rocky River.

My time with the P&C has been a massive learning curve, however it has been the most invaluable personal challenge. It has provided the greatest opportunity to get to know the staff and families of the School and to be connected with my child’s learning experiences. I have made some great friendships, and I feel I have made some beneficial contributions.

Now that my child has moved on to her next learning experience, I believe I should leave some room for other parents to have a say in how their children can benefit from their time at Rocky River, how the P&C can better provide for their needs and to develop a personal connection with the School as I have enjoyed.

At the end of the day, the P&C provides for the students, and it is the parents who know best what their children need. I hope that more parents will understand this and choose to become more involved with their children’s educational journey during these important foundation ‘learning years’ at Rocky River.

My child was always worth the time and effort, I hope yours is too.

Uniforms

School polo shirts, jumpers and jackets are available through the P&C.  Order forms are available from the school office, the Audiri App and the attachment below.  

 

We still have some long sleeve shirts available for $10 each in sizes 4, 12, 14, 16 and S.

 

There are also a large number of pre-loved uniform items available at the school office at $5 per item.
