Surviving the School Holidays: A Time to Recharge

 

Hi everyone, 

 

The school holidays are nearly here, and it’s the perfect chance for everyone to take a well-deserved break! While it's tempting to fill the days with lots of fun activities, it's just as important to remember that the holidays are also a time for kids to rest and recharge. After all, they’ve worked hard at school and are probably feeling a little tired.

 

Balance is key! While it’s great to have some adventures and try new things, it’s also okay to have quiet days at home, reading a book or playing a game. This helps children regain their energy and be ready to start the new school term with fresh enthusiasm.

 

If you are looking for activities, here are some that might interest the families over the break:

 

Moorabool Libraries' Autumn School Holiday Program

From Monday, April 7 to Thursday, April 17, 2025, Moorabool Libraries are hosting a series of Wizard of Oz and Easter-themed events. Activities include:​ 

  • Make a Mini Scarecrow: Craft your own mini scarecrow at Ballan Library, 143 Inglis Street, Ballan.​
  • Wizard of Oz Drop-In Craft: Create themed crafts like mini Tinmen, magical wands, or rainbow suncatchers at Ballan Library.​
  • Wicked Ice-Cream Making: Learn to make ice cream inspired by the Wicked Witch at Lerderderg Library, 215 Main Street, Bacchus Marsh.​
  • Easter Cookie Decorating: Decorate Easter-themed cookies at Lerderderg Library.​
  • Easter Storytime & Egg Hunt: Enjoy Easter tales and participate in an egg hunt at Ballan  ​
