Foundation News

Akshpreet and Mirren

The term is flying by, and our Foundation students have been busy learning, exploring, and having fun!

Literacy

Over the past three weeks, our Foundation students have been learning the letters T, I, and L! We have been exploring their sounds and practicing how to blend them into words. To support deep understanding, we’ve provided multi-sensory experiences, including hands-on activities like forming letters with playdough. These fun and engaging activities help students recognise, write, and use letters in different ways!

Maths

In Maths, we’ve been working on numbers 6 and 7, building our counting and number recognition skills through different hands-on activities. We have also been learning about length. Students have been comparing different objects using words like “longer,” “shorter,” and “same length”. These experiences help build their understanding of measurement in a fun and meaningful way. It has been exciting to see them apply these skills in everyday situations!

Japanese Incursion

Our recent Japanese incursion was a huge hit! Students had a fantastic time learning to play the Taiko drums. They enjoyed the rhythm, movement, and excitement of this traditional Japanese art form. It was an unforgettable experience and we are so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic our students were throughout the session!

Upcoming Event – Harmony Day!

We are looking forward to celebrating Harmony Day on the last day of school. Families are warmly invited to join us for this special event as we embrace and celebrate our wonderful diversity.
