Senior School

Dear BMGS Senior School Community,

As Term 1 draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the many achievements and highlights of what has been a productive and energising start to the school year.

It has been a pleasure to witness the way our Senior School students have approached their learning, leadership, and co-curricular involvement this term. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field, on stage, or contributing to the wider school community, our students have shown dedication, resilience and enthusiasm.

Year 12 have stepped confidently into their final year, demonstrating maturity and focus as they balance their academic commitments with leadership responsibilities. Year 11 have settled in well to the demands of Stage 6, building strong foundations for the year ahead. Our Year 10 students are beginning to find their stride, taking on greater responsibility and showing positive engagement across their subjects.

I also want to acknowledge the efforts of our Years 7, 8 and 9 students, many of whom are continuing to develop strong learning habits and a growing sense of independence. Year 7 have made an impressive transition into Senior School life, while Years 8 and 9 are showing maturity in how they approach both their learning and their relationships with others. It has been a pleasure to see their increasing confidence and participation in the life of the School.

This term has also seen rich co-curricular participation, including summer sports competitions, music performances, outdoor education experiences, and service initiatives. I thank all students who have contributed so generously of their time and talents.

As we head into the Easter holiday, I encourage all members of our community to take time not only to rest and recharge, but also to reflect on the deeper meaning of Easter. At the heart of the Easter message is the Christian story of hope, sacrifice and renewal through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a time to consider themes of grace, forgiveness and new life—an opportunity to reconnect with faith, give thanks for the blessings we enjoy, and reflect on how we might serve others in the term ahead.

For our senior students in particular, the break also offers a valuable opportunity to consolidate their learning, revise key content, and prepare for the challenges of Term 2.

A reminder that full winter uniform, including the blazer, is to be worn from the start of Term 2. We appreciate your support in ensuring students return well-prepared and neatly presented, ready to start the term positively.

I also encourage all members of our school community to consider attending local ANZAC Day services over the break. Students representing the School are asked to wear full winter uniform, including their blazer, as a sign of respect and pride. These services are a meaningful opportunity to honour those who have served and sacrificed, and I know our students will represent the School with dignity and reverence.

Thank you to our dedicated staff and supportive families for the guidance, encouragement and care you continue to offer our young people. I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together next term.

Wishing you all a joyful, peaceful and blessed Easter.

Best regards,
