Group 22

Group 22 have been having a great time exploring and engaging with many different activities and experiences. As part of our All About Me focus, we have been making self-portraits with felt pieces. Everyone spent some time looking at themselves in the mirror. There were lots of laughs and giggles as they looked at themselves. They were fascinated with looking at all of their different facial features and working out where to put them on their self-portraits. The finished portraits look amazing! Our music sessions are a highlight of our week. Group 22 enjoy playing lots of different musical instruments to explore what they sound like. They become absorbed with playing them and listening to the different notes they make. We particularly enjoyed our special music session focusing on music from different cultures and countries for Harmony Week. One of Group 22's responsibilities for caring for our school environment is looking after our school garden. It has been looking very dry lately, so we filled the watering cans and gave the garden a good water.
We love our Sports sessions and there's nothing that Group 22 likes more than trying out all of the different sports equipment in the gym and working out on the fitness machines. We enjoyed participating in Athletics Day. Everyone stepped out of their comfort zones and tried lots of new activities and equipment. They showed us what they are made of as they gave everything a go! It was great to see them try, miss and keep persevering to make a throw or a jump. They pushed themselves to walk and race. Their big smiles showed how proud they are of themselves! Yay! Go Group 22!
Swimming is another activity that Group 22 love. They like the sensation of relaxing and moving in the water. They are in their element - laughing, playing, kicking, floating and gliding. Their confidence increases every time they get into the pool.
We would like to wish you a wonderful Easter and happy holidays as you enjoy time together as a family.
We look forward to seeing you all next term,
Stacy, Kerry and Karen
