As we wrap up a wonderful Term 1, I’m reminded of how important it is to pause, rest and recharge. Our school has had a fantastic start to the year – full of learning, laughter and the smiling faces of students and staff alike. It’s been a joy to see classrooms alive with curiosity, creativity and connection.

A real highlight this term was our Bunnings Sausage Sizzle – made even better by the beautiful sunny day we were gifted! I absolutely loved the sense of community that filled the air. We are so lucky to have such an amazing group of parents and staff who generously give their time to support our school. Thank you to everyone who helped, whether behind the BBQ or cheering us on – your efforts make a real difference.

We also held our much-loved annual Sports Day – and what a day it was! The school came alive with colour, energy and friendly competition as students proudly dressed in their house colours. It was fantastic to see everyone giving it their all, showing great sportsmanship and team spirit. Congratulations to the Green team on taking out the win this year!

Another standout moment was our Student Leadership Ceremony, where we proudly welcomed families to celebrate the announcement of our student leaders for 2025. It’s always such a special event and this year was no exception. Being a leader at our school is about more than just wearing a badge – it’s about stepping up, using your voice to make change and setting a positive example for others. Student voice is something we value deeply, and we are so excited to see how our new leaders will shape the year ahead.

Congratulations to Elia – School Captain, Callam – Vice Captain, Davies -Green house captain (Darrang), Isaac – Yellow house captain (Ngawan), Rusith – Red house captain (Biik) and Sarah – Blue house captain (Galada). We know you’ll do us proud!

I’d also like to let our school community know that Lindy is currently on leave and travelling as part of a Department of Education recruitment trip to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast. It’s a fantastic opportunity for Lindy to connect with enthusiastic and talented educators overseas with the aim of bringing some fresh new faces to join our amazing team. We look forward to hearing all about the trip and the connections she made when she returns next term.

As we head into the holidays, I want to wish all our students, families and staff a safe, happy and restful break. May you find time to slow down, breathe deeply and enjoy the little things. Thank you all for a fabulous start to the year – we can’t wait to see what Term 2 brings!
