Friday, 28 March, is a whole school out-of-uniform day for Relay for Life. A gold coin donation is gladly accepted but not required, and all proceeds from this event will be donated to the Cancer Council Victoria. Each year level/sub-school has been allocated a colour to wear for the day/night that represents a form of cancer. We encourage participants to wear as much of their cohort’s colour as possible.
Plenty Kids, Prep, Years 1 & 2: Gold, for Childhood Cancer
Years 3 & 4: Dark Blue, for Colon Cancer
Years 5 & 6: Burgundy, for Multiple Myeloma
Year 7: Yellow, for Bone Cancer
Year 8: Green, for Liver Cancer
Year 9: White, for Lung Cancer
Year 10: Orange, for Leukaemia
Year 11: Purple, for Pancreatic Cancer
Year 12: Pink, for Breast Cancer
Transition from school day to RFL:
The event will start with a whole school assembly at 2:30pm in the MPH (gym). From 3pm, the whole college will be walking laps around the school until the end of the school day. Students may choose to stay on for the event straight after school or go home and return when most appropriate. Primary students staying after school need to be supervised by an adult.
With the hot dry summer delaying the reopening of our main oval, the location of this event will be around our MPH (gym) area. A registration marquee will be set up in the Year 7 area on the way to the gym. Please be ready to show your online receipt or provide your name upon entry.
Tickets
Everyone attending the event after school needs to purchase a ticket and collect a wristband at the Registration Marquee. Purchase your ticket now through the Try Booking link below to access the “early bird” offer of $20 per person or $45 for a family of any size. This $5 discount is only available until 11:59pm Wednesday 26 March.

Donations through this link are also accepted for the Cancer Council.
Registrations are welcomed after this time through the link or on entry to the event at the Registration Marquee at a cost of $25 per person or $50 for a family of any size.
What will the night look like?
This event will be between 3:30pm and 10:30 pm but you’re welcome to come and go. There will be live music, dunk tank, head shaving, games, kids activities, an animal nursery, and other fun events and activities running throughout the night. There will also be a reflection tent and a commemorative hour at 8pm to reflect and remember those affected by cancer.
We are encouraging participants to walk laps and seek sponsorships, in addition to the lap prizes we will have in the evening, too.
A BBQ in the evening with soft drinks, sausages, burgers, baked potatoes, fairy-floss, choc top ice-creams and baked goods will be available for purchase while stocks last, in addition to a coffee cart “The Coffee Enthusiast” until close.
The dunk tank will also be active throughout the night, where people can bid donations to dunk their teachers in cold water, which is always a favourite activity.
Head shaving is always a popular way of fundraising and is being offered on the night, and offers the opportunity for students (or others) to raise funds. Alternatively, people with long hair can cut off a significant portion of their hair and fundraise for cancer research. Please contact Jessica Patterson at jessica.patterson@pvcc.vic.edu.au to express your interest.
What to bring
Comfortable shoes and warm layers.
Bring some money for food and activities. Both cash and EFTPOS will be available however gold coins will be handy for some activities.
Request for volunteers, contributions and sponsors
We are still looking for more parent/guardian volunteers to assist at this event and would love your support if you can spare an hour or more.
If you are able to help and have a current Working with Children's Check on file at the college, please use this document 2025 Relay For Life Volunteers.xlsx to add your name.
We are also kindly requesting community contributions for our baked goods stall. We need families to bake some products that we can sell on the night. We are seeking sweet homemade products such as slices, cookies, or cupcakes that we can individually package and do NOT need to be refrigerated.
Please drop them off at the Early Years Reception or Main office on either Thursday 27 March or Friday 28 March (before 10am).
All products must have a label clearly stating the product name and a complete ingredient list. Disposable containers are preferred, any reusable containers should have a label with students' names and can be collected from the main office after the event.
Finally, we welcome any business or families that would like to make a financial contribution in sponsorship to help cover the costs of the event and will gladly share a list of our sponsors in our college newsletter, on our social media and at the event. Please contact Jessica Patterson (jessica.patterson@pvcc.vic.edu.au) to express your interest.
Every small act can go a long way toward combating cancer.
Thank you for your support!
