Richelle L & Nikita C proudly represented our school in the Rotary Essay and Speech Competition on Tuesday night at Roseville Golf Club.
Richelle wrote an engaging and cohesive essay titled The Importance of ANZAC Day: Remembrance and Education. Nikita delivered an exceptional and interactive speech based on the statement: Today a library is the cultural centre of a community not just a depository for books highlighting the importance of libraries by artfully walking us through the library and highlighting each section.
I can proudly announce that both Richelle & Nikita won both of the competitions for Chatswood Public School. A very well deserved outcome. Congratulations to both students for their hard work and creativity in preparing their speeches.
Our school leaders attended the North Harbour Learning Community Leadership Day at Mowbray Public School on Wednesday. Students collaborated with Mowbray and Castle Cove Public School leaders, exploring how leadership is run at each others school and were mentored by Chatswood High School students throughout the day. Our school leaders participated together with the other schools in leadership workshops run by CHS leaders. They shared initiatives they are working on for the year and gained ideas from other the leaders from other schools. Our leaders returned to school even more excited to carefully plan and implement their projects.
Yesterday our school conducted the annual class and individual portrait photography sessions. For those students who were absent, a make-up portrait day has been arranged for Monday 26 May.
Specialty Group Photographs and the Year 6 Photograph will be taken in Term 3, once all groups have been established.
For those students who travel by train to school, please be aware of the following changes:
From Saturday 19 April 2025, Transport will make changes to some train services on the T1 North Shore, T5 Cumberland, Hunter and Central Coast & Newcastle Lines.
These changes are being introduced as part of a regular review of train services to improve services for passengers.
Some T1 North Shore services will be extended from Hornsby to Berowra, improving connectivity for school students travelling home on the T1 North Shore Line in both directions.
As a result, minor adjustments will also be made to the departure times of some weekday afternoon services for all stations on the T1 North Shore Line from Hornsby to Roseville.
On the T5 Cumberland Line, adjustments will be made to the departure times of eight weekday off-peak services, improving connections for passengers interchanging to T1 Western Line services at Seven Hills travelling towards the Sydney CBD.
There will be changes to departure times and departure platforms of some weekday services on the Hunter Line.
On the Central Coast & Newcastle Line there will be an adjustment to the departure platform of one service.
All adjustments are minor but may mean some services arrive a little earlier, or depart later, or there are additional services available which weren’t an option previously.
The adjustments are part of a regular review of services by Sydney Trains and are now visible on transportnsw.info and travel apps.
Our students are taught very clear and safe ways to use the Nature Play during school hours. However, when this area is used after school, the same expectations are not always upheld. If parents and carers could please avoid this area of the school when socialising after school it will help us keep the space used appropriately.
Additionally, students not in the company of their parents or carers are asked to go directly home after school.
