We’ve had a fantastic final week of Term 1 filled with meaningful and memorable moments. Our ANZAC Day ceremony was a respectful and reflective occasion, helping students understand the significance of the day. We sincerely thank Matthew Vertzonis CSM RFD (retd) from Chatswood RSL for attending and speaking at our ANZAC assembly. Your thoughtful reflections and insights significantly contributed to our commemoration, helping us to honour the sacrifices made by our service members.
The Easter Hat Parade brought colour and creativity to the playground—thank you to all the families who joined us! We’re also proud of our school leaders, who spent time working with students at Mowbray PS and Chatswood High School, building connections and strengthening their leadership skills. What a great way to end the term.
A reminder that Term 2 begins for students on Wednesday 30 April. Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 April are Staff Development Days, where our teachers will be engaging in professional learning focused on High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE). This is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring we meet the needs of all learners and continue to provide rich, challenging learning experiences across the school. We look forward to welcoming students back on Wednesday, ready for another great term of learning.
As we finish up Term 1, I want to sincerely thank our amazing teaching staff and admin team for everything they’ve done to support our students each and every day. It’s been a busy and productive term, and their commitment has made all the difference. I’d also like to thank our families for your ongoing partnership—your support, involvement and trust in our school means a great deal. We’ve laid some strong foundations this term, and I’m really looking forward to building on that as we head into the rest of the year.
A big thank you to our P&C for organising this week’s community morning tea. It was a great opportunity to connect with families, and I really enjoyed the chance to chat with so many of you. A special thanks to our CPS Orchestra for showcasing their talent while entertaining us during the morning tea.
Yesterday, I was visited by a group of our Year 6 student leaders who shared a thoughtful idea to improve our school—installing bottle-filling taps around the playground. After walking the school grounds with them and hearing their reasons, I couldn’t agree more! It’s a fantastic suggestion that supports both student wellbeing and sustainability. I’m pleased to share that we’ll be going ahead with the installation over the holiday break. Well done to our student leaders for taking initiative and making a positive impact!
Wishing all of our students, families, and staff a safe and relaxing holiday break—we look forward to seeing everyone back for Term 2!
