International Transgender Day of Visibility (Monday, March 31st)

Carlton North Primary School is committed to being safe, inclusive and welcoming for all people in our wonderful community. It's important to work with students to acknowledge, explore and celebrate diverse identities. We aim to foster a safe, respectful and inclusive community by acknowledging and/or celebrating a variety of cultural events that happen throughout the year, as well as by teaching the mandated Respectful Relationships (RR) curriculum.

International Transgender Day of Visibility happened on Monday, March 31st. For many trans and gender diverse people, a lack of representation, role models, and community can be isolating and make it difficult to feel proud of their identities. Initiated in 2009, International Transgender Day of Visibility is a day of pride and celebration for gender diverse identity, achievements, and community. You can find more information and resources here.

PJ Party and Movie Afternoon

As a School-Wide Positive Behaviour School (SWPBS), when students display behaviours that reflect our Values of Respect, Trust, Inclusion & Resilience, they may receive a token. These tokens are then put towards a whole school reward (selected by our SRCs after gathering ideas from their classes). When a reward reaches 400 tokens, all students get to partake in the reward as a whole-school celebration of each student and their commitment to displaying these values.

Tomorrow our CNPS students will be celebrating their incredible work by having a PJ Party & Movie afternoon. This movie afternoon will happen individually in the classrooms (some have already happened)!

So don’t forget to wear your PJs tomorrow and join in on the celebration of our students’ wonderful achievements showing our CNPS values!

Giant Chocolate Bunny Raffle

We are still selling raffle tickets for a giant chocolate bunny that was donated by Lizzie's Chocolate Shop. You can buy them at the office. We will be announcing the winner at assembly tomorrow.

Election Day BBQ and cake stall on May 3rd.

Helllooo!

I know we are all still in recovery from the best day of the year… but the federal election is a month away! As usual our school will be a polling site on Saturday May 3.

Last election, many people come to vote and nearly as many people voted elsewhere but came for our democracy sausages, cake and homemade tomato relish.

But, we need help to cook, serve and sell on the day (starting 7am – through to 5pm).

A sign in sheet is at front office, or feel free to pop your name and mob (next to a task) in the roster (google excel sheet – link below).
