Year 10 Work Experience

A reminder for students and families that Year 10 work experience will take place from Monday 26th May to Friday 30th May. Students have been working hard to make contact with potential employers to secure work experience placements as part of the HC10 class.  Parents and carers can assist by checking in with their student on their progress towards securing a work experience placement. This year all work experience paperwork is digitally based through the new Education Department Work Based Learning Platform.  It’s an exciting transition to digitising all forms and making the paperwork process more streamlined for all parties.  Please keep a lookout for an email which requires a parent/carer review and digital signature to complete your student’s placement paperwork.

Placements available!

Vail resorts at Falls Creek have offered some fantastic work experience placements, please email Ms Macklan if you are interested in any of these placement options:

  • Rental and retail operations (2 placements)
  • Lift maintenance
  • Electrical
  • Carpentry (Building Maintenance)

Parent/Carer Support for Careers and Pathways

Are you seeking more information to assist your student with pathway planning?

Research has found that parents and carers are the single greatest influence on a young person’s education and future career decisions, with students often seeking confirmation or support on pathway decisions. Having access to relevant and recent information can greatly assist in career and pathways conversations.

Any students considering attending University are strongly encouraged to arrange to physically visit the campus and participate in Open Day’s and organised activities, prior to applying for a course. Ensuring you are comfortable on the campus for the University of your choice is equally important as choosing the right course of study! Use the careers website open day link to see dates for 2025.

Dates are updated as Universities advise details.
