Cooking Classics

Mr Redmond's cooking class recently had an exciting experience at our local coffee roaster, Honeybird Coffee. Students were talked through the coffee roasting process from sourcing the beans in countries such as Kenya, Indonesia and South America, through to how to blend, roast and sort different coffees. The excursion finished with students making their own coffee (and Chai latte for some).

Thanks again to the crew at Honeybird Coffee!

Humanities

One of the Year 7 classes stepped into the roles of lawyers, witnesses, and jury members when they participated in a mock trial recently. This activity allowed students to develop their critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the legal system.

With careful preparation, each team built their case, examined and created evidence, and presented arguments before a judge. Students cross-examined witnesses and delivered their final statements. The jury then deliberated, weighing the evidence before reaching a verdict.
