Dear Parents,
It is with sadness we acknowledge the passing of Pope Francis. During his time as pope from 2013, he walked in the footsteps of Jesus having a profound impact on communities across the world. His Holiness was a beacon of compassion and his relentless call to action to impact social justice causes was an inspiration to people of many faiths and backgrounds.
His ministry was one of service and he consistently demonstrated respect for the dignity of each individual, regularly extending support to the poor, the homeless, refugees and asylum seekers, the sick and all who were marginalised.
Our Executive Director, Dr Edward Simons, stated that 'our Holy Father has urged a new missionary heart in the Catholic community, cultivating a spirit of Gospel-centred reform, of shared and collaborative leadership, of a simple faith in the risen Jesus who is alive in his Church'.
At St Christopher's we honour his legacy and pray for all who mourn his passing.

Tomorrow, Friday 25th April is a Public Holiday. Next Monday, 28th April will be a Student Free Day. We look forward to seeing the children return to school on Tuesday 29th April.
Today we gathered as a school to acknowledge ANZAC Day and recognise the sacrifices of many in their service to our country. Our memorial service is one way to teach students about some of our history as well as providing an opportunity to particpate in this highly respected tradition in Australia and New Zealand.
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
