From the 3/4 Classrooms

The Game of Life

Throughout the term students have explored the emotions they might feel and the choices they may face when they encounter challenging situations.

They have learnt how social, emotional, and physical changes, core values, and stereotypes can influence their identity. They have also engaged in activities and discussions to practise saying no, make safe choices, and manage strong emotions.

These activities culminated in the students working in small groups to create a game so that they could help others understand different emotions better.

They needed to create an original and colourful gameboard and a game that used the emotions cards in an interesting way to engage players.

Hopefully you played the game with your child that they created in their group at the whole school Expo last Friday afternoon. In each of the Grade 3/4 classes, there was much laughter and discussion about the wide range of emotions that we all might feel in a day!

Here are a few photos of the games below!

Finally, to complete this terms unit of learning, the Game of Life, students were given the home learning task (last Friday 28th March). This task was to interview an adult and learn about their identities so that they can use their knowledge and advice to be the best version of themselves.

Here is a copy of the interview questions below –

Many students have shared their interviews with the class. They have reflected on what they have learnt and what they might do differently in the future, based on the information and experiences the adult shared with them.

It has been a great way to finish a very busy and productive Term 1 of learning.

We hope everyone has a fabulous break over the holidays and we can't wait to continue the Grade 3/4 journey of learning in Term 2.
