Harmony Day at St Mary’s – “We all have a role to play”

Last week, St Mary’s celebrated Harmony Day with a whole-school event that brought students from all year levels together in mixed groups. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to connect, learn and reflect on what it means to live in harmony with others.

Throughout the day, students explored this year’s theme, “We all have a role to play,” through a range of activities, including drawing, discussion, music and cultural exploration. They worked together to create posters, shared ideas about kindness and inclusion, and learned about different instruments from around the world.

A highlight of the day was a visit from Michael Chisholm, Aboriginal Education Lead from Catholic Education Sandhurst. Michael ran small group sessions on the oval, sharing traditional Indigenous games and demonstrating boomerang throwing — a big hit with the learners.

The day wrapped up with a shared prayer and song, bringing learners together to reflect on how we can each make a difference. It was a great reminder that living in harmony is something we practise every day.
