Year 8 students from MNCS participated in the launch of the 2025 Live4Life Program at Baromi Park on Tuesday 14 May 2025. The event, which included a sausage sizzle, The year 9 crew speakers, and a range of activities, marked the beginning of of the mental health initiative for young people in Mirboo North.
The Live4Life model aims to improve mental health literacy and increase mental health knowledge. It empowers young people to act as ambassadors for mental health, raising awareness of mental health issues among their peers and community.
The theme for this year’s initiative is “ No matter what you are going through someone is always there for you ”. Events and activities for the 2025 program focus on this theme, which reinforces the many community supports in place to support young people.

What is Bullying?
Bullying is intentional and repeated negative behaviour directed towards another person by one or more people over time. It can be related to just about anything and can come in many forms. For example, bullying can include physical, verbal, social (like spreading rumours, excluding people, etc.) or it can be either online or face-to-face.
Each individual student who has been bullied or is bullying others will respond and act differently. A student's behaviours and moods can also change for a variety of reasons. Signs can include: • student is often alone or excluded from friendship groups at school • student is a frequent target for teasing, mimicking or ridicule at school • change in the student's ability or willingness to speak up in class and appears insecure or frightened.
Signs a parent may report: • doesn't want to go to school • changes their method or route to school or are frightened of walking to school • changes in sleep patterns • changes in eating patterns • frequent tears, anger, mood swings • unexplained bruises, cuts, scratches • missing or damaged belongings or clothes • arriving home hungry.
Remember, bullying is serious. Tell someone about it.
