Information for Year 10-12 Students and Families
We hope that your holidays were enjoyable and the start to Term 2 productive. Term 2 is often a busy term where many excursions and events are slotted in ahead of our next term when Senior School Information Evening, Course Selection for 2026 begin. (Hard to believe we are already talking planning for 2026!)
We have great news! The Applied Learning area is expanding with the introduction of three new staff into the VCE-VM program.
We have two staff returning from maternity leave – Jennifer Talbot and Rachel Priestley, and the school has appointed a new staff member – Leading Teacher of Applied Learning – Amanda Vosper. Amanda comes with extensive knowledge and experience in Applied Learning. This has allowed us to split the VCE-VM class into two, allowing for better supervision for out of the classroom activities and the ability to cater better for each individual student. Classes are still scheduled at the same time, in rooms right next to each other to allow students to work across year levels, and to get assistance from two teachers.
Senior Information Evening: Compulsory for all year 9 into 10 and10 into 11 students.
Year 12 students will come together on the 19th of November once year 12 exams are completed to celebrate completion of their secondary schooling.
Excursions, incursions and activities have been plentiful in Senior School since the term break.
Year 12 Dress Up Day
Our second year 12 dress up day for the year was well attended
Year 11 Centsible Incursion
Our VCE Year 11s undertook the Centsible Teen Talk presentation and by the silence and attention to the presenters
Wednesday Warriors
Over the past two terms, small groups of our Year 10 students have had the opportunity to assist the local Wednesday Warriors group with clean-up efforts, repairs and replanting on the Rail Trail as part of a community Work Experience program. The students have been thoroughly enjoying the experience, and we look forward to sharing more photos as they come available. Thank you to the Wednesday Warrior team for sharing your knowledge with our students.
Year 12 Tertiary Information Session and Team Building Day
Our year 12's had a day away from the books where they undertook a Tertiary Experience Day at Federation University to learn all about course options and VTAC applications (plus more).
From there they took the opportunity to undertake some team building activities at Wyncity in Morwell where the competition got fierce from lane to lane and in the Laser Tag room.
As you can see from this list, it's a busy time in Senior School. We ask that parents/guardians approve their child's attendance as soon as possible.
