Principal's Report

Dear St A’s Community,
Welcome back to a new school year.
I have been so pleased to see the smiling faces and safe return of our students! The students have been welcoming to new staff, students and each other, and settled in to their new classes. A big St A's welcome to our new families joining our community and of course all our new students.
A Special Welcome to Our Preps!
Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our newest and youngest students to St. A’s—our Prep students! It has been wonderful to see their excitement as they begin their school journey, making new friends and getting to know their teachers. We are so proud of how well they have settled in and embraced their new routines. A big thank you to our Prep teachers and LSO support staff for creating such a warm and welcoming environment for them. and new Preps! I forgot how tiny they are!
A Smooth Start for All
We are delighted to report that the second week of school has run very smoothly, with students settling into their new classes and routines. Teachers have been busy establishing positive classroom environments, and our students are already engaging enthusiastically in their learning. It’s wonderful to see our school community working together to ensure a successful start for all. Our specialist program has also begun with the specialist staff starting their weekly lessons. We look forward to a fantastic term ahead, filled with learning, growth, and community spirit. Thank you to all our families for your ongoing support.
Your tireless efforts in nurturing and encouraging your children, coupled with your commitment to collaborating with our staff and broader school community, have been amazing. It is through this strong partnership that we have continued to provide a nurturing, vibrant, and faith-filled learning environment for all our students.
Year 5 & 6 Upcoming Camp
The Year 5/6 Rumbug camp is scheduled for Week 9 of this term. An amazing opportunity awaits for our senior students to come together and embrace new challenges and adventures. Please contact the office with any camp related questions.
My sincere thanks to all of the school staff who are attending these camps that enable our students to access these amazing opportunities.
Swimming
This week our Grade 3-6 students will take part in their yearly swimming program at Core 24. Please make sure that your child is packed and ready to attend these daily swimming lessons and remind your child to bring their swimming bags home each day.
Jubilee Year 2025
Pope Francis has dedicated 2025 as a Jubilee Year, something which happens every 25 years. The motto is ‘Pilgrims of Hope’, intending 2025 to be a year of hope for the world.
The Jubilee Year in the Catholic Church offers a unique and profound opportunity for evangelisation in Catholic schools. Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools are planning a rich program of Jubilee activities to support schools and their communities to participate more fully in the blessings of the year, including prayer and liturgy opportunities, pilgrimages, an ambassador program, Catholic Education Week and Australian Catholic Youth Festival. As a school we will embrace the year of Jubilee with many school wide events and immersions for our students.
Communication
Please keep an eye out this week for your child’s year level newsletter. These newsletters will keep parents up to date with what’s happening in your child’s classrooms.
Please also ensure that your child's Operoo profile is up to date and that you have connected with your child's classroom journal in Seesaw.
Show Grace, Be the joy for others and God Bless.
