First Week Back

A Great Start to the Year
It was wonderful to see the happy faces of students on LCS grounds once more this morning. Welcome back! And an extra special welcome to those who are joining our school community for the first time. We pray that you settle in quickly and find an easy rhythm through this first term.
Thank you also for your patience as we navigate changes (for example, to drop-off and pick-up locations) to ensure our exciting building project can proceed without hiccup. And it can only get easier from here, right? As the build progresses, we hope you will join us in maintaining a spirit of rejoicing, prayer and thanksgiving.
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Secondary Play Space
We are delighted to report that the new LCS Secondary Playground is open! Designed by Play Street and constructed by Matt Burgess Landscaping, it incorporates a volleyball court, shelter area and swings, all designed to support students' physical, social, emotional and cognitive development.
This project was predominantly funded by the school, but would not have been possible without the vision and support of the Parents in Community committee. In fact, it was back in 2019 that the PiC pledged $70,000 for a secondary playground, continuing its long-term investment in the school's play spaces, with funds largely raised from historical school fairs.
We want to say a huge thank you to the PiC and those visionaries in the early days of planning this play space. We also wish to acknowledge the hard work of our Head of Finance Graeme Smith, and Facilities Manager Isaac Peters and his team. We are blessed beyond measure to have these skilled staff members ensuring smooth and effective project management.
Now, all that's left is for our secondary students to enjoy the results!
