Swimming Carnival

Last Wednesday we held our St Joseph’s Swimming Carnival. With storms predicted all day, we pushed through the events with urgency just in time to beat the weather. It was wonderful to see so many of our students enthusiastically participating in events in both the lap and Learn to Swim pool.

This event was generously supported by many volunteers who helped to make our carnival run smoothly. Thank you to Troy Arandale for his assistance with entering students and their nominated races and ensuring the races ran without any issues. His experience in using the timing and recording equipment is vital in running our day. Steven McAllister made a return to be our Race Starter for the day. Keith Watts had the role of the Judging Official where he ensured our swimmers were aware of the rules and procedures in the races. Laura Townsend was a huge help in the Learn to Swim Pool for Bec Willis and Karen Fletcher ensuring our across the pool swimmers were in safe hands. To all these amazing people, we THANK YOU!

Our amazing parents stepped up to the plate once again. A huge thank you to the following people who helped with either timekeeping, marshalling or lifeguarding; Sue-Ellen Cooper, Joanne Wright,  Kylie Neville, Krystle Nugent, Tess Lonergan, Narelle Pietsch, Brigitte Brummell, Alise McBain, Belinda Stanton, Jasmine Shields, Jennie Dodds, Emma Newberry, Adriana Pietsch, Allana Price, Zara Smyth, Julie Miller, Stephanie Hollingworth, Karen Correy,Sam Correy, Nicole Watson, Brendon Watson and Michael van der Waal. The day could not have run without you!

Once again we were well nourished for the day by Floatin Around Coffee Van, The Lion’s Van and Lyn Cregan. Having your presence at our carnival keeps us all in good spirits and provides the sustenance for us to keep going throughout the day.

Kindergarten - We will hold a modified ‘Tadpoles Carnival’ at school run by the teachers and House Captains. We will add their points to the overall House points from the carnival. Details will be communicated to our Kindergarten parents.
