Tech-free Tuesdays in the SRC - coming Week 6

The Senior Resource Centre (Senior Library) is a place where you can not only get ahead of the curve when it comes to managing your workload but also take some time to recharge and relax with a good book or another mindful pursuit.

With this in mind, when coming to the Senior Library at Recess or Lunch students need to have a clear purpose, one which is productive and in accordance with maintaining a positive space and good working environment. Primarily, our library is a learning space where at any time of the day students from Years 7-12 are working on their studies and require a quiet environment.

Remember, there is always something to do that doesn’t require the use of your PLD and a break from technology is a good way to maintain balance and promote a healthy mindset. Classroom lessons can depend on the use of technology, but break time does not have to. In order to give students the opportunity to have a brief respite from the ever-present demands of technology we are trialling Tech-free Tuesdays at Recess and Lunch in the Senior Library beginning in Week 6.

As @studywithashlie observes in her blog post 'In our hyperconnected world, where technology is seamlessly woven into the fabric of our daily lives, the idea of a day without screens may seem like a distant dream. However, carving out a tech-free space, even if just for a day, can have profound effects on your well-being and, surprisingly, on your productivity.'

Starting next week, Tuesdays at Recess and Lunch will be a device free zone in the Senior Library for students in Yrs 7-10 as we provide the time and space to take time away from screens and reconnect with other ways to feed your mind and soul.

Use your imagination and come and talk to us about how you would like to use the Library without your PLD.
