Year 2/3

Welcome to 2025!
Routines - The Year 2/3s have done a fantastic job of settling into school routines and are now confidently moving about their day. Morning greetings and yarning circles set a positive tone for learning, and with plenty of practice, students have been developing strong work habits in the classroom. It has been so lovely to see students working together and supporting each other during our Start Right Program.
Cooking - All our Year 2/3 classes have now started participating in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program! This hands-on experience is already proving to be a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn about food, cooking, and all the responsibilities that come along with being in the kitchen.
Here is the 2/3 cooking schedule:
- 2/3N will cook on Tuesdays
- 2/3T will cook on Wednesdays
- 2/3P will cook on Thursdays
All classes will cook from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM each day.
A huge thank you to all the parents who have helped so far! Your support has been vital in making these lessons a success. We would greatly appreciate continued parent involvement. If you’d like to contribute, please reach out to the office! A current WWCC is required.
Chromebooks - The Year 2/3 students have had an exciting start to the year as they begin using Chromebooks to support their learning. They have been practicing logging in independently and exploring a variety of online learning tools. In Google Classroom, students are learning to navigate assignments and use online links. They have also started using Typing Club to develop their keyboarding skills and Xtra Math to strengthen their math fluency. These tools are helping students build confidence with technology while reinforcing essential skills. It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and growing independence as they engage with these digital learning platforms!
