What will I learn?
The focus will vary depending on your role in the ensemble; and therefore may include learning about vocal techniques, movement, dance and choreography, character development, ensemble acting, artistic collaboration, text, score or music interpretation, instrumental technique, and rehearsal techniques and processes.

You love performing and have a strong interest in and passion for musical theatre. You are intending to audition to be part of the Senior Musical cast or orchestra and wish to have all your hard work recognised as part of your TCE.
What skills does this course provide?
The study of Musical Theatre builds social and collaboration skills and increases self-confidence. The course involves active engagement in the rehearsal and performance of a musical theatre production as an actor or singer or dancer (or combination of these three roles), or as a musician. Musical Theatre allows the exploration and expression of emotion and creativity. Learners will develop significant ensemble performance skills and devleop the capacity to reflect on their own artistic practice, skill development and contributions to an ensemble project.
The course includes the compulsory undertaking of these areas;


What Pathway Options does this course provide?
The study of Musical Theatre Level 2 can provide a pathway to further TCE pre-tertiary Level 3 courses such as Drama 315, Theatre Performance 315, Music 315, and or Contemporary Music and Songwriting 215. It can also provide a pathway to the University Connection Programs of Foundation (UCP0101) and Advanced (UCP011) Practical Studies.
