Farewell 2025 and Best Wishes for the Festive Season.

As we reach the final days of the 2025 school year, we pause to reflect on our collective achievements and extend our sincere gratitude to every member of the Highton Primary School community.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive and generous parent body. Thank you to our School Council, Parent Club, and dedicated volunteers whose unwavering support—from organizing second-hand uniforms and the Colour Run to assisting with excursions and preparing gifts—made this year so successful. Your positive attitude and enthusiasm in every task are truly appreciated.

We also extend our deepest appreciation to all our dedicated staff. Their hard work, dedication, and creativity have been the driving force behind another successful year. They consistently went above and beyond, introducing innovative teaching methods and strengthening our Wellbeing programs. Even when faced with challenges, they maintained a positive, solution-focused approach, always prioritising our students’ needs.

Please join us in expressing your gratitude to our staff before the holidays—they truly deserve this recognition.

On Thursday, December 18th, teachers will escort students to the front of the school for final pickup. This provides a great opportunity for you to chat with them and wish them a wonderful holiday, allowing our team to finalise preparations for our end-of-year celebrations.

Lastly, please note that Friday, December 19th is a clean-up day and school finishes at 1:30pm on this day.

Important 2026 Supervision Policy and Time Changes

Student safety at Highton Primary School is our highest priority. To uphold our duty of care, it is essential that parents and students are aware of our student supervision arrangements, particularly noting the change in school start and finish times for 2026:

Before School (New 2026 Times)

8:30 AM: School Opens. Drop-off at the front of the school is supervised. Students are expected to wait outside classrooms.
8:35 AM: Students check in with their teacher and prepare for the day.
8:45 AM: Instruction promptly begins.

After School (New 2026 Times)

3:15 PM: School Pickup. Pickup at the front of the school is supervised. (All students are expected to meet up with parents/carers or wait for pickup at the front of the school).
3:35 PM: Gate Supervision Finishes. The school is unsupervised.

Please Note:

Students are only permitted to play on school grounds outside these hours if they are attending the school’s OSHC (Team Kids) program or a pre-arranged, supervised extracurricular activity, or if they are supervised by their own parent/carer.
Parents/carers are requested to ensure that students do not attend school outside of these supervised times.
Families are encouraged to contact Team Kids on 1300 035 000 or www.teamkids.com.au for more information about our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC).
