From the School Leadership Team

Welcome to Our Foundation 2026 Families
It was wonderful to see so many of our new Foundation 2026 students at the first of our Orientation sessions on Monday. We also appreciate the efforts of our class carers and cafe for providing delicious coffee, tea and cake to welcome our new families with some amazing hospitality.
Premier's Reading Challenge and Be Active Challenge
It was wonderful to see so many awards presented at Monday's assembly for both the Premier's Reading Challenge and the Premier's Be Active Challenge. We are incredibly proud to announce that our school achieved a remarkable 98% participation rate in the Premier's Reading Challenge and an outstanding 100% participation rate in the Premier's Be Active Challenge this year.
Special congratulations to those students who have now participated in these challenges for multiple consecutive years, demonstrating their commitment to reading and physical activity. These achievements reflect the dedication of our students and the support of their families.
A huge thank you to Mrs Carter for coordinating the Premier's Reading Challenge and Mrs Arnold for organising the Premier's Be Active Challenge. These valuable opportunities help foster a love of reading and promote healthy, active lifestyles for all our students.
3/4 Futsal Grand Final Victory
Congratulations to our 3/4 Futsal team on their incredible grand final victory last Friday night! Nathan, Kai, Henry, Byron, Blake, Eric, and Jasper faced off against the King's Strikers, a team that had remained undefeated throughout the entire season.
Our boys went into the game with the right attitude – to have fun and do their best. They came away with an impressive 7-3 victory, leading the game from start to finish!
The team played amazingly well, but what makes us even prouder is the fantastic sportsmanship they displayed throughout the entire season. This is something our school community can truly celebrate. Well done, boys!
Parents & Friends Committee
A reminder that our Parents & Friends Committee meeting and AGM will be held on Monday 1 December at 6:30pm. All families are warmly welcome to attend.
This year, our P&F has been instrumental in supporting our school community through various events including Bingo Night, our Picnic Afternoon, the middle of term breakfasts, and the Parent Information Evening- just to name a few! These events play a significant role in strengthening the bonds within our school community.
We deeply appreciate all those who have volunteered their time and energy to help make these events successful. Whether you can commit to regular involvement or help out occasionally, all contributions are valued and all families are welcome.
Social Media Changes - Parent Toolkit
Please find below a resource which may be of value for our school families with navigating the upcoming changes to Australian social media legislation.
The Cyber Safety Project has developed a Social Media Delay – Parent Toolkit. This resource is designed for schools to share with parents and their wider community and includes:
- Clear guidance on the new laws and their implications
- Practical strategies for families to manage the transition
- Conversation starters to help parents support their children
- Tips for saving content before accounts are suspended or deleted
These changes take effect on 10 December 2025. The Cyber Safety Project toolkit offers timely, practical support for families and will remain updated to reflect the latest advice from eSafety.
Important Reminders
Foundation Transition Sessions
We have three transition sessions scheduled for our incoming Foundation students on the mornings of:
- Monday, 1 December
- Monday, 8 December
These sessions help our youngest learners become familiar with their new classroom environment and begin building relationships with their teachers and peers.
Community Events
Mark your calendars for these special occasions:
- Christmas Carols Concert (Friday 28 November) – Join us for a joyful celebration of the birth of Jesus with carols and performances.
- Thanksgiving/Closing Service (Wednesday 10 December) – an opportunity to give thanks for our blessings and achievements this year and to recognise and honour the contribution of a number of our students, staff and families.
Term 4 truly is a celebration of everything that makes our school community special. We look forward to seeing you at these events and finishing the year on a high note together!
Class Carer Gift Collection
Each year, our wonderful Class Carers co-ordinate a small gift for each staff member on behalf of all families. This arrangement helps ease any pressure families might feel about giving an individual gift to their child's class teacher, while also seeking to reduce the financial burden that can come with the busy Christmas period when many families are managing additional expenses. Our class carers also ensure that all our valued staff members are acknowledged—including those who work behind the scenes such as our office staff and teacher aides. If you would like to make a voluntary contribution toward this year's staff gift, you can do so conveniently through Qkr! We appreciate your consideration, though please know that participation is entirely optional.
STEM and Music Classroom Upgrades
You may have noticed some construction work taking place around our STEM and Music classroom block adjacent to the main courtyard. We are currently undertaking some important remediation work to address moisture issues that developed over time.
The original pavers and fill underneath were installed too high against the building slab, which unfortunately caused moisture problems. Our current work involves drying out the slab completely, carrying out any necessary internal remediation in both classroom spaces, and then reinstalling the pavers at the correct lower level. This will prevent the same issue from occurring in the future and ensure these valuable learning spaces remain in excellent condition for our students.
We appreciate your patience during this improvement work and look forward to having these spaces fully operational again soon.
Volunteering in the School
We appreciate many families giving of their time and expertise to volunteer in the school, whether it be with our school canteen, P & F Events, school camps, GLOW Week or classroom assistance. A reminder to please ensure that your WWCC details are up to date, along with RAHN and VSC training. Further information on our volunteering requirements is available from our website.
