In November, Year 10 student Koby M attended a trial and coaching clinic in Sydney run by AUSA Hoops, one of Australia’s leading college basketball development programs. Koby took part with the goal of gaining personalised coaching feedback to support his 2026 rep season.

During the clinic, Koby impressed selectors and has now been chosen to join the 2026 AUSA Hoops USA Tour, a three-week basketball and college experience in July next year.

Koby will travel to Dallas where he will stay on a college campus, take part in daily study hall, train with actual college coaches and compete in the American college circuit.

This is an incredible opportunity and a reflection of Koby’s dedication to his sport.

Well done Koby, Inverell High School is very proud of you.

We’re excited to share this photo of Riley in his Inverell High uniform, proudly holding his National Championship medal.

After three unanimous-decision wins against top State and National champions in the 51–54kg division, Riley is now preparing for his next challenge — the Global Titles in Sydney in February 2026, where he will represent both SAS Boxing and the Inverell Community on the international stage.

Congratulations once again Riley. Your dedication, resilience and hard work are truly inspiring, and we wish you all the very best as you get ready for Sydney.

U14 Boys Cricket Regional Final

On Wednesday November 26, our U14 Boys took on Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School in the Regional Final at Varley Oval. Stand-in skipper Eric T won the toss and elected to bowl first in overcast conditions.

Our boys started strongly, taking two early wickets with Eric T and Riley W striking thanks to sharp catches from Ryan S and Isaac S. After 10 overs, Farrer were held to 2/37. From there, our bowlers faced some outstanding batting, with two Farrer players going on to score exceptional centuries. Riley W continued to lead from the front, finishing with 3/32 from 8 overs in a superb spell. Farrer closed their innings at 4/304 from their 40 overs. Our boys showed tremendous sportsmanship, congratulating the centurions as they left the field.

Chasing a big total, our team lost an early wicket before Riley W and Warwick F combined for a steady 50-plus run partnership against a strong bowling attack. The stand ended with an unfortunate run out, removing Riley for a well-made 25. Inverell were eventually bowled out for 100 after 21 overs, but Warwick showed great determination, finishing unbeaten on a hard-earned 37 with several impressive boundaries.

A massive thank you to Eric T for stepping up as captain with Lachlan S unavailable, and a big thank you to Lachlan for leading the side superbly throughout the season to reach the Regional Final, an outstanding achievement.

Thank you also to recent IHS graduate Jackson B for umpiring on the day, and to Mr Rose for scoring. Another big thank you to Preston L and Hollie W for their scoring and umpiring efforts throughout the season.

Well done to all involved — a fantastic effort and a season to be proud of.
