National Simultaneous Storyline 2025

Last week, our school joined thousands of students across Australia in celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime—a joyful annual event where children nationwide read the same book at the same time. This year’s delightful story was The Truck Cat by Deborah Frenkel and Danny Snell, a heartwarming tale of friendship, resilience, and the adventures of a little cat with a big spirit.

Participating in this amazing event reminded us of the power of books to connect us, not just as classmates, but as part of a wider reading community. From the youngest listeners in Prep to our seasoned Year 6 readers, everyone was drawn into the journey of Tinka the cat and his truck-driving companion, seeing the world through their eyes and imagining life on the open road.

Events like this spark a love of reading and show just how exciting and meaningful stories can be. Thank you to all who made the day such a success. We can’t wait to see what next year’s book will bring!
