We are continuing to look at "Finding features" and this week looked at what makes an animal unique and what features they have, especially the way they move. The students looked closely at worms and how they moved and what features make them special. Some students didn't want to touch the worms but were very excited to look at them up close.

With the unit on "Take, Shape and Create", the students have looked at where plastic comes from and how its shape can change and how it can be recycled into a new plastic shape. This week they looked at wood and what it can do and how the First Nations Australians used wood such as shelter, weapons and warmth. The students used small wooden blocks and different shaped wood to make their own creations and then joined their creations with their tables to make a large structure. This is a practice to lead into making their sculpture by the end of the term.
