Principal's Update

HUGE THANK YOU!

BUNNINGS BBQ

The Bunnings BBQ was once again a great success - thanks to all the families who supported us - either with donations or helping at the BBQ - it was greatly appreciated.

Our next one is coming up on SUNDAY October 19 - please save the date - we only need 2 hours of your time.

BOOK FAIR

The Annual Book Fair provided our community with a fabulous opportuntiy to purchase books - we opened  the Fair each day in the library, morning and afternoon for a week and we found we were very busy! I think our students loved the opportunity to browse the books - like in a real bookshop and then make their choice.

Thanks to Emily for setting it up and to the staff who helped man the stall.

Coming up:

Our SRC ( Student Representative Council) have been very busy planning events for this term:

SOUPER HERO DAY: Dress up as a Souper Hero and enjoy some soup and fresh bread roll - only $5, please book (pre-order) on QKR app.  BYO plastic mug with handle.

WINTER WARMERS:

Our SRC decided that its too cold for Zooper doopers so we are bringing Hot choc ($2) and raisin bread ($1) to you at lunchtime from the canteen on June 25 and July 2 - please BYO mug and coins. No need to pre order.

All donations of Cadbury Hot chocolate, packs of marshmellows or raisin bread would be welcome.

50th BIRTHDAY DISCO - for our students:

Following a recent survey of our students about what they would like to do for our 50TH Birthday - they came up with an "old school" type disco and party fun lunch- during the day at school! We got excited and here we are:

To all our students: dress up in your 70's outfits and come along on Thursday June 19th for a fun filled afternoon with party food and a disco! WOOHOOO - "Staying alive, Staying alive ...."

8.50am - QUIET START:

Our Prep to grade 2 students are being welcomed into the classroom from 8.50am each morning. Students are very welcome to spend this time reading with a friend before the school day begins. This quiet start to the morning helps everyone settle  and get ready for a great day of learning. Who doesn't love a quiet read for their health and wellbeing!

I might start reading in the mornings too!

FLUID LEARNING:

Did you know - we provide many opportunities for our students to be learning at their point of need. Our staff work hard to assist students who may have some gaps in their learning In addition we also encourage our students who need to be extended. This has been an ongoing focus in the Senior Module ( grade 3- 6) with very fluid groupings depending on the needs of our students.

We are now delighted over the next few weeks to be rolling out some extension opportunities in the Junior Module in both Numeracy and Literacy, in addition to our existing support structures in place. The opportunities will be data driven and will coincide with school Reports.

Our teachers and Learning Specialists continue to work together for the best outcomes for our WMPS students.

ENROLMENTS WELCOME:

Do you know a potential Prep for 2026 -any siblings, neighbours? Our enrolments are open NOW!

Come and join us.

Take care and be kind!
