The HUB - Facilities

HUB Lift use
It is great to see staff and students making use of our beautiful new facilities and we are pleased to ensure inclusive access to our state-of-the-art labs. Use of the HUB lift is strictly limited to students with any impairment that would make traversing the stairs difficult. Students who require the lift will be given permission by their sub-school.
Introducing Student ID Tap Access for HUB Bathrooms
As part of our continued efforts to ensure student safety and respectful use of facilities, NHS will soon introduce a tap access system for the newly opened bathrooms in the HUB.
Starting in Term 3, students will be required to tap their student ID card to access the HUB bathrooms. This system is designed to support:
- Safe and inclusive access: The HUB features modern, non-gendered bathroom spaces designed with privacy and accessibility in mind. The tap system helps manage usage and ensures these spaces are used appropriately.
- Minimising misuse and loitering: Controlled access will reduce incidents of inappropriate behaviour, damage, or overcrowding, helping keep the facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for all.
- Supporting student wellbeing: In the event of an incident or concern, the system provides a record of access that can help us follow up appropriately while maintaining student privacy
Student cards will not record or display personal information when used - the system simply logs access. All students will be briefed about the new system, and our wellbeing and IT teams will support anyone who may need help with their card or has questions about the process.
