Volleyball Vic School Cup

Volleyball
We had an exciting opportunity to take two year 8 teams to the first Volleyball Victoria Schools Cup of 2025. This three-day tournament is a great chance to play volleyball, make friends and have an incredibly fun time. We had great success, with one team winning a bronze medal, and our newest volleyballers getting some big wins on the board! Special mention to Jane O in 8A for winning the division’s MVP award – an incredible achievement and very well deserved!

Coaching the year 8 girls A team alongside Ella at the recent volleyball tournament was
such a fun experience. I got to see both their gameplay and confidence grow throughout the three days. I’m so proud of the team, through exciting wins and losses the girls ended up coming third, as well as having the most valuable player medal awarded to Jane, this is fantastic! I believe everyone’s skills improved so much and I can’t wait to see what happens next tournament.

Over the three-day volleyball tournament, the atmosphere from both teams was incredible! I coached the year 8 girls B team with Una, and over the days these girls’ used teamwork and excitement to come together and enjoy their time, both on court and off court. As it was their first ever tournament, nerves were high but that didn't stop them from trying their hardest in every match! Both teams cheered on each other, creating a new chant for Northcote Highs volleyball community. I can't wait to coach them for their next tournament.

This was a super exciting tournament for all players and coaches. I had a wonderful time coaching the B team with Sienna and watching them vastly improve over these three days. I am so proud of all of them. These girls have great team chemistry - using this, and their skill and determination leading them to win two games! Although there were a few hiccups at the start the girls kept their heads up and kept pushing to the last point. The energy I saw from both teams was inspiring and I’m super exited to see the same level of enthusiasm next tournament!
