Collaborative Colouring Project for the Course Expo

It’s hard to believe that we have already completed our subject Expo and have commenced the course/subject selection process for 2026! This is always an incredibly busy time in the careers office, so thanks for your patience in finding an appointment time. The easiest way for students to book an appointment is via their year level Teams page – go to the careers channel and click on the tab to make an appointment. Best of luck to all students in years 8 – 11 who are working through the subject selection process over coming weeks.

Course Expo 2025

On Wednesday 4 June we hosted our annual Course Expo to begin the course selection process for our Year 8 - 11 students.

This event supports our students and families as they begin exploring their 2026 subject and pathway options. We were delighted with the number of families who attended the event and took the opportunity to engage with our teachers about subject offerings.

Year 8 - 11 students will now spend Connect lessons exploring the subject handbooks and planning out their course preferences for 2026 and beyond.

Students and families with further questions should reach out to their subject teachers and Connect tutors over the rest of Term 2.

Though the art faculty was tucked away in C-Block's gallery space this Course Expo, they still managed to bring in crowds. Subject areas showcased some incredible pieces, folios, and short films - all the work of Art students.

As a quiet respite, attendees could contribute to the collaborative artwork. This year's piece was a colouring-in sheet of the C-Block building. It's now on display in the gallery and looks great. Go check it out, and remember to pick Art subjects next year!"

TRADE AND TECH EXPO

On Wednesday last week our VET Administrator Dora took a group of female students to Victoria’s Trade and Tech Expo at the Convention Centre. Hosted by the Department of Education, students had an incredible opportunity to get hands-on experiences in programming, trades, gaming design, engineering, flight simulation and more!

Well done to these students for responding to our call out for participants and taking on this opportunity to learn more about careers in technology and trade.

RMIT TECH AND TRADES DAY – JULY HOLS

Explore next-level workshops at RMIT's Tech and Trades Experience Day in the July school holidays. Walk in the shoes of a student for a day and experience what it's like to learn an IT, tech, or trade course. Year 10, 11 and 12 students as well as parents/guardians are invited. Not only is it free, it's also a great chance to get a glimpse of what tech and trade courses are really like at RMIT. Students can participate in two hands-on workshops, tour facilities, interact with staff and students, and win prizes.

Students will have the chance to choose two workshops from fields such as Building Design, Carpentry, Cyber Security, Electrical, Engineering, Refrigeration, Information Technology, Plumbing, and Surveying. These fields offer strong industry growth and promising future career prospects.

Date: Thursday 10 July 2025 Time: 9.00am – 2.00pm

Location: RMIT City Campus

Registrations are essential and can be made at Tech & Trades Experience Day 2025
