Prep News

Term 2, Week 8

What we've been up to in Prep!

We had so much fun celebrating Milo's Birthday Surprise!

This week in Maths we have been practising asking each other questions to collect and interpret data. An opportunity to support this learning at home is to pose a yes or no question to your family and practice tally marks. We have also been busy making bridges to help the Gingerbread people cross the river!

Today, we all got to make our Gingerbread people. We had so much fun - they were so delicious!

Upcoming Learning

Literacy

In Literacy over the next two weeks, we will be reading 'The Ugly Duckling' and 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. We will also be looking at our new Stage 4+ sounds - /ss/ & /ll/. We will learn our new Heart words 'do' and 'see'.

Mathematics

In weeks 9 and 10 we will continue to explore measurment, more specifically length. We will also look at 3D shapes and begin to look at simple addition.

Topic

In Topic, we will plant seeds (just like Jack and his beanstalk!) and measure how high they can grow for the rest of the Term.

In Respectful Relationships we will continue to look at Positive Coping; Managing emotions.
