STUDENT OF THE MONTH – STUDENT’S CHOICE AWARD

Proudly brought to you by our School Captains

Have you noticed a friend or classmate going above and beyond?

Maybe someone’s been striving for the highest, demonstrating resilience, taking up opportunities, or consistently showing respect to teachers and peers.

If that sounds like someone you know – nominate them!

View your Compass Newsfeed to access a nomination form (link), and they could be recognised at our next whole school assembly as the

Students' Choice – Student of the Month.

Let’s celebrate the everyday legends in our school community.

Hello BHS pusher-upperers,

From the 4th-26th June we are looking for any students, teachers or parents that are willing to have a crack at 3,214 push-ups (or 1,607 if you choose the half target) in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health via the Push for Better foundation.

Sound like too many push-ups? We get it, no worries at all, you can do the half target and substitute push-ups for alternative exercises, like squats and sit-ups (which means there is plenty of opportunity to participate). It’s free to take part and there’s a sweet app where you get daily targets and mental health facts, track your progress and can check out our collective stats.

We have already created a Belmont High School Community which is a group of Teams all participating in The Push-Up Challenge and pushing together. By joining our Community as part of a Team, we’ll be able to track our collective stats, as well as see our own personal leaderboard for Teams and individuals.

Now, if this sounds like something that you can push for and are either up for a physical challenge or excited by the opportunity to promote mental health, or just get amongst it with your mates, then this is for you!!!

How do you get involved:

1. Sign yourself up by joining or creating your own team via our community page: https://www.thepushupchallenge.com.au/fundraisers/belmonthighschool

- Make sure you use your full name so that we can see who’s putting in the work and maybe you may even receive some random prizes across the 23 days.

2. Whenever you get the opportunity outside of school hours (9am-3:15pm) grab your phone and download the ‘Push for Better’ app and log in with your account you already signed up with. From here you can track your push ups and keep up to date with your team and the community’s progress.

3. Come join the community on the Belmont Green (outside the general staffroom) on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes to A) smash out some push-ups and B) have a chat about how you’re going with it!!

We hope you’ll join the team!

Any questions get in contact with Mr Ingamells or Mr Hosking.
