Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle
The Green Team have put their minds together to build a Sustainable Scarecrow to ward off critters at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Scarecrows and other deterrents have long been used in the plant world to ward off unwanted animals from crops as a natural pest control.
The Sustainable Scarecrows will be showcased in the middle of the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, sharing and inspiring the possibility of recycling and reusing for the community. A big thanks to Isla for helping put together all of the students’ ideas!
Meet ‘Circe’ our sustainable scarecrow shielding SKiPPS!
She is a magical superhero inspired from mythology and made from a variety of found materials. From coffee bean hessian bags, tetrapaks milk cartons, plastic bottles and lids to old paintbrushes, CDs and even keys. Circe is completely recycled!
