Italian News

Ciao a tutti!

It has been lovely coming back to the Italian specialist role and meeting all the beautiful children at SKIPPS. Our Italian classes have been jam-packed with Italian vocabulary and grammar and there has also been quite a bit of singing, dancing and quite a few Italian language games as well!

Our ‘stelline’ (little stars) in Foundation have been extremely busy. Not only have they been exploring the world of Pinocchio through story and song, but also working on a very special assembly performance that they will do alongside their Year 5 buddies in Week 10.

Our 1/2 children started the year expanding their knowledge of greetings and introductions through the song  ‘Ciao, Ciao, Come Ti Chiami?’ (If you’d like to sing along find the song here - LINK). And are now moving onto learning about how to talk and write about ‘la famiglia’ (the family).

In anticipation of moving into our new ‘cucina’ (kitchen) next term, our students in 3/4 have been doing a great job exploring vocabulary and grammar around this all-important topic!

In Years 5/6 we have been looking at ways we can talk about ourselves in Italian. In particular, describing our personality and our hobbies and interests. Look out for some fantastic student raps as our senior students apply their new- found knowledge.

A presto!
