Visual Arts

Contemporary Indigenous artist Sheree Smith has been the focus artist for the Grade 4s the last fortnight.
After choosing four favourite colours to block in their background, students used paint pens of similar colour to add stripes, similar to the artwork of Sheree.
Sky, sea and sand was the theme for the Grade 2s most recent project.
Students experimented with three different painting application techniques including rollers, rulers and texture combs to create their backgrounds.
Students then followed a directed drawing to create a sandcastle in the foreground, topped off with some beach paraphernalia scattered along the sand.
The Foundation students completed their first multi-session project last week.
After reading the picture story book “The Lion in the Night” students undertook several steps to cut, arrange and glue down their jungle lion.
Grade 5 compared three different works by artist Roy Lichtenstein before creating their name-based pop art artwork.
These are currently popping off the walls in the students' classrooms.
