Reflection

It was so lovely to celebrate our Ash Wednesday Mass this week with our whole community. It was a beautiful celebration and our students did wonderfully well participating throughout the Mass. Please see the reflection shared by our School Captains Ivy Di Ianni and Carsten Cheng at the beginning of the Mass.

We welcome all of you today to our Ash Wednesday Mass, which marks the beginning of the Season of Lent.

Lent is a special season in the church that helps us prepare for Easter. It lasts for 40 days, just like the 40 days Jesus spent in the desert praying and fasting. During this time, we think about our relationship with God and try to grow closer to Him.

Lent is a time for:

🔹 Prayer – Talking to God and listening to Him.

🔹 Fasting – Giving up something special (like sweets or screen time) to focus on what really matters.

🔹 Giving – Helping others by being kind, generous, and loving.

By doing these things, we remember how much Jesus loves us and how He gave His life for us. Lent helps us to say "yes" to God and to become better people. When Easter comes, we can celebrate with joy, knowing we have grown in faith!
