Principal Report

We have had another successful half of the term since the last Blackfish Bulletin. Congratulations to staff, students and families for your commitment and hard work this term. Having just had our College Open Night on Tuesday this week, the night exemplified the positive progression we have been making as a college. It was so pleasing to see our prospective students and families being guided around the college by a large group of our Year 7 and Year 12 students, supported by Leaders of the college. We received some very positive feedback about the night, and this aligns well with the positive feedback we have been receiving from the parent tour groups that have been occurring throughout the day. Thank you to all staff and students involved in the success of our Open Night.
As you will see in the remainder of this Newsletter, there have been many notable highlights this term and many extracurricular activities that have enhanced the student learning experience, including a successful NAPLAN period for our 7s and 9s, Year 12 Formal, Year 7 Camp, Outdoor Education Camp, Soloist Night, and plenty of sporting success. I am extremely proud of the way our students have conducted themselves throughout this term and upholding our values of Connection, Respect and Growth.
I look forward to Term 2, which begins on Tuesday, 22nd April. Athletics Day takes place on Thursday of Week 1, and Parent-Teacher Interviews are in Week 3. Further information about Parent-Teacher Interviews will be published in Compass in the coming weeks; however, this will be a great opportunity for families to connect with the relevant staff members of the college.
I hope that students and families enjoy the upcoming break, and I will see you all next term.
