League Tag Gala Day

On Friday 21st of March St Anthony's had their whole school League Tag Gala Day in Burrows park. This event hosted by the Sydney Roosters Game Development team from the NRL was a great success.  A special mention to Kindergarten who were amazing for their first excursion.  Thank you to our amazing teachers who looked after us and thank you to any parents who were able to come along to support.  The children thoroughly enjoyed the day!

"I really like the game where got tag the person with ball. The coaches were really fun and I liked the 'Guess the Lolly in the Jar game'. I like that we had a race against our teacher." - Harrison

"The rugby gala day was a fun experience for the students and teachers. We got to score tries and it was very competitive but we enjoyed it. All the staff members were so nice and treated people fairly. The weather on the gala day was pouring with rain, but all the students didn't seem to mind. We owe a big thank you to all the teachers that planned this amazing trip. Thank you." - Aria and Riley

" I loved the Friday Gala day because it was fun to be with my friends" - Lara

Swimming Championships

Well done to Morgan, Chloe and Bonnie for representing St Anthony's fantastically at the Swimming Championships on Monday 24th of March at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. Chloe is advancing further to Mackillop trials, congratulations Chloe!

"Hi, my name is Chloe and I have made it through to the fourth round of the swimming championships. The fourth stage of swimming is called Mackillop. I was a bit nervous for my first race freestyle but after I did it it wasn’t so bad. When the beep went off we all dove into the water. All I could hear in the water was cheering and screams. When I touched the wall the taste of the water filled my mouth. I had three races freestyle, backstroke and breast stroke. Over at the marshalling area we were given a seat based of our heat. When we were waiting to be called I had made a lot of friends. I had a lot of fun and I am looking forward to the upcoming carnival." -Chloe

"On Monday the 24th of march I went to regionals for swimming. When I first arrived in the Sydney Olympic Park I was really excited because I got to swim in the same pool that olympic

Swimmers have swam in. It was only when I first walked into the stadium that I started to get really nervous. I watched many other people do their races until the 12-13 girls breaststroke got called out, I walked down to the marshalling area and got put in my line. We walked over to the pool and stood in front of our chairs, as I watched the girl in front of me finish her race, it

It was finally my turn. I stood on the diving bord and when I heard the beep I sprung off the diving board and into the water. At the end of my race my legs felt like jelly and I had got fifth out of nine in my heat. Overall I loved going to regionals and it was such a great experience to get this far." - Bonnie

Well done to all the children who ran in their Cross Country trial. Thank you to the parents and children who helped out with timing and lollipop sticks. A special thank you to Mr O'Malley and Ms Grainne for helping me out.
