GRIP Leadership Conference

On Tuesday 11 March, the Junior School Student Leadership Team attended the GRIP Leadership Conference at MyState Arena, where they collaborated with students from schools across Hobart to gain new leadership skills and ideas. 

The discussions, activities and interactive presentations enabled the students to learn practical strategies for enhancing their school community. 

Our leaders have returned to school with lots of exciting ideas to make SMC even better. We're looking forward to seeing what innovative changes they will bring!

Year 6 Canberra trip 

Canberra, here we come! Our Year 6 students will soon be undertaking an education tour of the national capital, where they will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. 

To assist families in meeting the cost of the Canberra trip, the Australian Government is contributing funding to our school in the amount of $300 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.
