NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a national standardised assessment for students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. NAPLAN measures whether young Australians are developing their literacy and numeracy skills, which provide the critical foundation for other learning and their productive and rewarding participation in the community.

Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 have been completing their four NAPLAN tests throughout Weeks 6 and 7. Each student in participating year levels completes a reading, writing, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy test.

NAPLAN results allow parents/carers and educators to see how students are progressing in literacy and numeracy over time – individually, as part of their school community and against national standards.

Further information for families can be found on the parents/carers NAPLAN page.

Year 11/12 Learning Conferences

Senior students will participate in their first learning conference for the academic year on Wednesday 2 April. Students are preparing for these conversations by focusing on three key questions for each course studied this year:

  • What is working well?
  • What are your current challenges?
  • What is my SMART Goal for Term 2?

The conferences are designed for students to attend with a parent or carer to discuss the above questions and refine their goals within each respective course. The College strongly encourages families to engage in their child’s progress through Connect prior to the conferences. Details regarding bookings with teachers will be sent to families on Wednesday 26 March.

Connect – College Learning Management System

Connect is utilised daily for news items, resources and the delivery of academic material across the College. It is imperative that families engage in their child’s progress through Connect, as well as stay connected to the College community through the Calendar and communication of events.
