Student Awards

Student Awards will be presented at our Assembly held every second Friday.  The next Assembly will be held this Friday March 14, 2025 @ 2.35pm (*please note new time)

Foundation

  • Louis - ‘Be Your Best’ for demonstrating great persistence to use the correct grip when holding a pencil and using scissors.  Great work Louis! 

  • Jonny - “Be Your Best’ for making good choices about where to sit, in order to do your best listening and learning. 

  • Layla Be Your Best’ for remembering and always checking that you are holding your pencil correctly.  Keep up the great work Layla! 

  • Xavier Be Your Best’ for the careful way in which you write your letters in your writing book and the beautiful illustrations you are drawing to go with your writing!  Amazing work Xavier!  

Year 1 & 2

  • George Be Your Best’ for trying to complete his work as best he can.  Your hard work is showing improvement in your work George, great effort! 

  • Riley - ‘Be Responsible’ for always trying to look after his space. Riley, you listen to all instructions when packing up and that leads to a really tidy and neat workspace! 

  • Oliver - ‘Be Responsible’ for always following instructions and meeting our class expectations.  You always set a positive example to others!  Well done Oliver.  

  • Bella - ‘Be Your Best’ for making strong growth with your knowledge of Place Value.  You have tried so hard and made massive improvements.  Now you can read, order and represent numbers to one thousand!  Great job Bella! 

  • Essie – ‘Help Others Succeed’ for being a great friend.  Essie always looks for ways to help other students.  Thanks for looking out for others Essie! 

  • Sylvie - ‘Be Your Best’ for putting her best effort in when writing.  Sylvie has been working hard to use the page correctly and write as much as she can in a set timeframe.  Well done, Sylvie! 

Year 3 & 4

  • Ava - ‘Be Your Best’ for always giving 100% in everything you do.   Ava, you are always ready to work, you listen beautifully, and you are a kind and thoughtful friend.  Well done Ava!  

  • Cameron - ‘Be Your Best’ for always working hard during class time and having a go at all activities.  You always use excellent manners, show respect and are a wonderful role model to other students! Keep it up Cameron!  

  • Emmy - ‘Be Responsible’ for always being ready and organised for the day’s learning.  Emmy, you are being a very positive role model for your classmates.  Well done!  

  • Grace - ‘Be Your Best’ for always striving to put 110% into all learning activities.  Grace, you should be proud of your start to the school year.  Excellent effort!  

  • Ella - ‘Be Your Best’ for her enthusiasm during class reading of ‘Matilda’.  Your whiteboard work is neatly presented, you read fluently, and you share your ideas for writing.  

  • Dylan - ‘Be Your Best’ for actively engaging in spelling, reading and writing tasks.  You listen carefully to phonemes in words, follow along class reading of ‘Matilda’ and you use spacing and punctuation well. 

Year 5 & 6

  • Oliver - ‘Be Your Best’ for always being a frequent contributor to classroom discussions.  Oliver, it’s always a pleasure to see you share your insightful ideas with our class. Well, done.   

  • Mollie - ‘Be Responsible’ for continuing to showcase your responsibility, by becoming organised and ready to learn.  Mollie, it’s been excellent to see the dedication and commitment you display towards your learning.  Well, done.   

  • Poppy - ‘Be Your Best’ for her excellent contributions to class discussions.  Poppy is always willing to share her thoughts and ideas with the class and loves reading our class novel aloud.  Thanks for your valuable input, Poppy.  

  • Devaj - ‘Be Your Best’ for his amazing use of descriptive language in his narrative about Timmy, the axolotl.  Devaj, you describe your characters, setting and events in such detail, using adjectives, adverbs and figurative language.  Great job. 

 

SPECIALIST

STEAM 

  • Easton (1/2) - ‘Be Your Best’ for demonstrating a fantastic design idea and precise measurements during the Little Red Riding Hood Basket Challenge.  Your creativity and attention to detail in ensuring accuracy in your work have been exceptional.  Keep up the excellent effort!  

  • Eleanor (3/4) - ‘Be Your Best’ for being a Collaboration Champion.  Eleanor, you actively listen to others and value everyone's contributions when working on a STEAM task.  Fantastic effort!  

  • Braxton (5/6)- ‘Be Your Best’ for applying critical thinking and perseverance to solve STEAM challenges, showing resilience and a willingness to experiment with different solutions.  Keep up the amazing effort, Brax. 

Art 

  • Xavier (F) - ‘Be Your Best’ for putting a lot of thought and effort into your artwork.  I love how much detail you put into your self- portrait.  

  • Ella D (1/2) - ‘Be Your Best’ for working so well during art class this term, and for completing a fabulous self-portrait using detail and colour.  

  • Eli (3/4) - ‘Be Your Best’ for excellent participation in art class.  Your self-portrait was wonderfully done  

  • Piper (5/6) - ‘Be Your Best’ for a wonderful inspired “Tim Burton” self – portrait.  You have captured yourself wonderfully in your artwork.

Music 

  • Hugh H (F)- ‘Be Your Best’ for starting the year with such an enthusiastic work ethic. You always use excellent manners, show respect and are a wonderful role model in our music class!  Fantastic work, Hugh!  

  • Jude (1/2)- ‘Be Your Best’ for always giving 100% in activity you participate in, whether theory or practical.  Jude, you are always ready to work, you respect the teacher and those around you and use lovely manners.  Well done, Jude!  

  • Taanashe (3/4) - ‘Be Responsible’ for always trying to look after the arts space.  Taanashe, you are responsible for following instructions and helping others to learn. You always assist with packing up after practical lessons which leads to a neat workspace! The teachers and other students appreciate this.  Fantastic work, Taanashe!  

  • Sienna (5/6)- Be Your Best’ for making each class enjoyable for not only the students, but the staff. You always share your wonderful ideas, think through all options, and throw yourself fully into any activity. This is clearly seen, especially in production rehearsals. Sienna, you are a kind and enthusiastic student, who always brings a smile to the face of those she works with! 

P.E. 

  • Frankie (F) - ‘Be Your Best’ for being a great sport and following the rules in games.  You always have fun and like to run fast.  Well done Frankie.  

  • Scout (1/2) - ‘Be your Best’ for being a great competitor in Frogs and Lily pads and always  listening to instructions.  Keep it up Scout.  

  • Alec (3/4) - ‘Be your Best’ for always bringing a positive attitude to PE lessons and giving your all in each activity.  

  • Sid (5/6)- ‘Be your Best’ for demonstrating excellent skills in Netball and being a great team player. Well done Sid.

Hats on at St Joseph's - Reminder

“Hats On!” at St Joseph’s - At St Joseph’s Primary School, our SunSmart Policy notes that all children will be required to wear school broad brimmed hats from ‘Hats On Day’- September 1 to ‘Hats Off Day’ - May 1 whenever they are outside including sports lessons. However, if the UV is 3 or above it is recommended hats be worn for protection.  Children without hats will be required to remain in the outdoor eating area (green tables) at all times – ‘NO HAT, NO PLAY’ policy will be enforced.
