Grade 4 News

It’s been wonderful seeing so many smiling faces and a genuine eagerness to learn! We’ve been focusing on kindness, and it’s been heartwarming to see that reflected in the students’ behaviour.

It was a pleasure meeting with you during our ‘Get to Know You Interviews’ and learning more about your child. If you have any unanswered questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher via email.

In Literacy, we’ve started our next class novel, Leo and Ralph, which has already captivated the students and sparked meaningful conversations about friendship, kindness, and the importance of making friends.

We are learning how to write narratives, and the students are brimming with creative ideas for characters and storylines. Additionally, we’ve been exploring similes, so it would be advantageous if you could incorporate these into your daily conversations at home.

In Mathematics, we’ve wrapped up our unit on time, which presented a valuable challenge for the students. They worked hard to grasp the concept of elapsed time and how to convert between seconds, minutes, and hours.

Next week, we will begin our study of multiplication and division, you can help prepare your child by practicing these skills at home.

In Respectful Relationships, we’ve been discussing coping strategies for dealing with negative emotions. The students now have a range of strategies to choose from, and we hope they’ll remember them when needed.

We continue our Religion unit focused on Lent and Easter, including creating a Lenten prayer to guide us through this season.

Thank you for your continued support!
