Grade 3 News

A huge well done to all our Grade 3 students for completing their NAPLAN over the last week. We still have some catch-up sessions for those students who missed the sessions.
We have finished our novel ‘Matilda’ by Roald Dahl last week, which allowed students to develop a deeper understanding of language features, learning new vocabulary words and building on comprehension strategies. As a treat, we have decided to watch Matilda the movie to allow students to have a deeper understanding of this novel. There will be some popcorn available, if your child cannot eat popcorn, please contact your classroom teacher.
Last week we worked on ‘Time’, understanding days, hours, minutes and seconds. We looked at the difference between time and ordered them from smallest to largest. This week we will be moving into ‘Multiplication and Division’ and looking at a range of different strategies to solve worded problems.
